Difference between Batch Processing and Real Time Processing

SN	Difference between Batch Processing and Real Time Processing: Both of these are File processing Techniques i.e. how the records (transactions) are processed and arranged into data files.
	Batch Processing	Real-Time processing
1	In this transactions are processed in Batches.	In this transaction is processed as soon transaction happened at the place of its origination.
2	In this a time lag (time delay) exists between the origination of transaction and their processing.	In this no time lag exist between the origination of transaction and their processing.
3	It is less expensive technique than Real Time Processing as this requires simple computer resources (Hardware, Software etc.)	It is very expensive technique as this requires very advance and complex computer resources.
4	It is a popular technique for Accounting Information System like Payroll Processing	It is popular technique for Sales Information System, Like Railway Reservation, Stock Trading etc
5	Information available is not up to date at every instant.	This provides updated information at any instant.
